Letter, January 8, 1935, from J.A. "Bid" McPhee to his nephew, Joey Lamping, Jr. McPhee gives Lamping a brief history of his playing career and encouragement for Lamping to play in the future. The letter is one page, handwritten, and signed by Mr. McPhee; an envelope is also included. There is light damage to the piece where something overlayed it.

Bid McPhee played for the Cincinnati Red Stockings of the American Association (1882-1899) and the Cincinnati Reds (1890-1899).
